The Phenix City All-Stars are in a must win situation in Williamsport tonight. The little league team representing Alabama and the Southeast will play the West, a team from Sweetwater Valley, California in an elimination game. First pitch is at 7:00 pm. The loser will exit the Little League World Series.
This isn’t the first time the team from Phenix City was forced to rally. The 1999 Phenix City Little League team came from behind to win the National Championship in the LLWS 27 years ago.
The Southeast champions lost a thriller after a record setting performance by Kinley Rasmus in their first game. Rasmus tied a LLWS record for most strikeouts by a female after striking out 8 batters.
