FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ga. — A two-day crackdown on criminal activity in Franklin County has led to multiple arrests, traffic citations, and warrant services. The joint initiative, called Operation Take Back, took place September 11–12 and brought together local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, said Franklin County Sheriff Scott Andrews.

On September 11, Franklin County deputies, state troopers, and Lavonia officers carried out what Andrews called “proactive traffic enforcement” along major county corridors. Their efforts resulted in:

  • 215 traffic stops
  • 32 citations issued
  • 98 warnings given
  • 7 K9 deployments
  • 8 arrests

The following day, officers shifted their focus to warrant services, Fourth Amendment searches, and “knock and talks.” Sheriff Andrews said those efforts led to six felony arrests, with suspects taken to the Franklin County Detention Center.

Andrews said the operation reflects an ongoing commitment to crime prevention and community safety. He added, “To our citizens, I want you to know: we will continue to take proactive steps to combat crime, hold offenders accountable, and ensure that Franklin County remains a safe place to live, work, and raise families.”
