On Wednesday, March 25, 2026, the Manchester Police Department Criminal Investigations Division (CID) initiated an investigation following a report from Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta regarding a 3-year-old male who had been transported by air from Warm Springs Hospital. The child was originally transported from a residence located at 1510 Nebula Road Lots in Manchester, Georgia.
Through an extensive and ongoing investigation, detectives determined that the child had suffered repeated physical abuse over approximately one month. The investigation indicates that the abuse was inflicted by the mother’s boyfriend, Jonathan White.
The child sustained severe injuries, including a broken leg and extensive contusions throughout his body. Investigators also documented injuries consistent with having his hair forcibly pulled, being choked, slammed, and isolated.
Jonathan White was taken into custody with the assistance of deputies from the Meriwether County Sheriff’s Office, who played a critical role in preventing the suspect from fleeing the state. White was arrested and charged with the following:
• 1 count of Aggravated Battery
• 3 counts of Cruelty to Children in the First Degree
• 1 count of Cruelty to Children in the Second Degree
White was also found to be on felony probation at the time of his arrest. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. This investigation remains ongoing.
