A 36-year-old Columbus man was shot seven times outside a Liberty gas station on Victory Drive Thursday night. The victim was transported to Piedmont Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries just after midnight April 3, 2026.
The Muscogee County Coroner’s Office identified the homicide victim as Calvin Mitchell. Mitchell was residing at a nearby hotel on Victory Drive. There was at least one witness to the murder according to Coroner Buddy Bryan. The incident remains under investigation by the Columbus Police Department.
