TOCCOA, Ga. — Police have publicly identified the man found dead Thursday morning inside a room at the Toccoa Motel as 50-year-old Dennis Paul Clouse.

Clouse, of Toccoa, was discovered around 10:40 a.m. on November 13 after motel staff attempted to enter his room and saw a large amount of blood. Toccoa Police officers responded and found Clouse dead inside. No one else was registered to the room, the GBI said in a press release.

Police secured the scene and asked the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to assist in investigating the circumstances surrounding Clouse’s death.

Investigators say the death appears to be isolated, and there is no evidence of a threat to the public.

An autopsy will be conducted at the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office in Decatur.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. More details will be released as they become available.
