Joseph Gordon Skellie

Joseph Gordon Skellie, age 81, of Cornelia, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2026.

Born in Glens Falls, New York, on September 2, 1945, Joseph was the son of the late William Skellie and Olive Hermance Skellie. Joe worked as a plant manager in the paper mill equipment manufacturing industry. Joe faithfully served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed being a member at Chimney Oaks Golf Club. Joe also enjoyed wood working, bowling also enjoyed music, especially old country. Joe was an animal lover, especially his beloved dog Sofie.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his wife Linda Maynard Skellie, son Lee Cameron, daughter Keri Jo Parrish, and siblings Regina, William, Dorothy, Ernest, James, Toby, and John.

Survivors include his sons, Todd Cameron (Kimberly) of Cornelia and Michael Skellie (Angela) of DeMotte, Indiana, his daughter Lori Bryant (Stephen) of Baldwin, brothers Stephen Skellie of Milton, Vermont, Michael Skellie (Margaret) of Clayton, North Carolina, and sisters, Christine Murray of Glens Falls, New York, and Diane Skellie (Tony) of Toccoa, twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Hillside Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service on Saturday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM.
