Commerce remained unbeaten as Marco Huff put on a clinic with all four Tiger touchdowns in a 28-7 win over rivals Rabun County.
On the first shot for Commerce (7-0; 2-0 in 8-AA) after the defense forced a 3-and-out, the Tigers marched down the field and found the end zone on a 16-yd TD run by Marco Huff.
Huff added a 5-yd TD a couple minutes later, making it 14-0 in the first. The Tigers had a good break before that score, recovering their own fumble inside the 10 after a completion from Tate Kirk to Ty Sorrells.
Rabun got some momentum after Khanii Thompson picked off Kirk, marking the QB’s first interception thrown all year. The Wildcats missed a long field goal try, and it remained 14-0 at the half.
Commerce scored on the opening drive of the second half, as Huff added his third TD of the game on a 5-yd carry to pad the lead up to 21-0.
JK Fruster had a phenomenal run for the Wildcats, shedding tackles on the way down inside the five. From there, he was rewarded with a 2-yd score to get Rabun on the board.
It took just one play to get it back. Huff ran wild on an 87-yd TD, weaving out of traffic for the 28-7 lead. Any last hope faded when Makiy Sanders had an interception, helping seal the win for the Tigers.
