
The Housing Authority of Columbus, Georgia (HACG) is pleased to announce the appointment of Laura Johnson as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective immediately. Johnson has been employed with HACG for over six years as its Chief Real Estate Officer and will continue to lead the organization’s ongoing mission to provide safe, affordable housing and strengthen communities throughout Columbus and the surrounding region.
With an extensive background in housing administration, community development, and
strategic leadership, Johnson brings a strong record of innovation and service to the role.
She has dedicated her career to expanding housing opportunities, improving operational
excellence, and building collaborative partnerships that benefit residents and local
communities.

In her new role, Johnson will oversee HACG’s portfolio of housing programs, lead ongoing
redevelopment initiatives, and champion efforts that support resident self-sufficiency,
economic mobility, and improved quality of life. She will also work closely with city
leaders, nonprofit partners, and federal agencies to advance the authority’s strategic
priorities.
