Habersham School Board to review facilities, counseling program, and surplus property

CLARKESVILLE — The Habersham County Board of Education will meet for a work session at 4:30 p.m. today to review facility needs, transportation department surplus items, and student support initiatives.

The session will include a facilities report from administrators David Leenman, Staci Newsome, and Denise Gunn, followed by a discussion of the transportation department’s surplus property.

Counseling Director Daphne Penick will present an update on the district’s strategic plan and counseling program, outlining progress toward academic and wellness goals.

Board members also will hear from Ryan Jones of Mauldin & Jenkins regarding financial or audit-related matters before entering executive session to discuss personnel and real estate.

The work session will be held at the Board of Education office in Clarkesville and precedes the board’s next regular meeting on November 10.
