CLEVELAND, Ga. – The Georgia State Patrol has released the preliminary findings about a two-vehicle accident in White County Tuesday involving a White County School bus.

Department of Public Safety spokesperson Franka Young said a trooper from GSP Post 6 in Gainesville investigated the accident.

The accident happened at approximately 3:40 p.m. at The Pines Road and Partin Road. Upon arrival, the investigating Trooper determined a 2002 Ford F-350 truck, driven by 34-year old Michael Hull, of Cleveland, was traveling south from a private driveway at 82 The Pines Road onto the public roadway.

A 2022 Blue Bird White County school bus, driven by Ross Neal Sparks, age 63, of Cleveland, was traveling east on The Pines Road. According to the state patrol, Hull backed into the road improperly. The rear of his pickup truck struck the school bus on the driver’s side. Both vehicles sustained “functional damage,” according to the GSP accident report.

Spark and 18 students were on the bus. Hull and passenger 40-year-old Terry Warren of Cleveland were in the truck. White County Fire and EMS responded to the scene. Troopers said there were no injury complaints.

Troopers cited Hull for improper backing.
