BALDWIN, Ga. — A gas main break has forced the closure of a section of the U.S. 441 bypass in Baldwin, authorities said Thursday.
The roadway is currently shut down between Willingham Avenue and Industrial Boulevard while crews work to repair the damaged gas line.
Emergency personnel are on scene, and law enforcement officers are detouring traffic around the closure. Officials said there is no estimated time for when the road will reopen.
Drivers are being asked to avoid the area if possible and seek alternate routes while repairs are underway.
No injuries have been reported. The roadway was reopened shortly after 1 p.m.
