Hall County Sheriff’s Office investigators seized more than a kilogram of methamphetamine and arrested a Flowery Branch man during a drug bust earlier this week, officials said.

It started Monday afternoon, July 28, when a deputy pulled over a pickup truck for failing to maintain its lane near Hog Mountain and Capitola Farms Road. A K9 unit alerted to the presence of narcotics, prompting a vehicle search that uncovered approximately 22 grams of methamphetamine.

Investigators with the HCSO Special Investigations Unit (SIU) identified the driver as 50-year-old James Rondy Andrews of Flowery Branch. During questioning, they learned additional drugs might be at his home on Sleepy Lagoon Way, according to investigators.

Andrews was booked into the Hall County Jail on multiple felony charges, including: trafficking methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (three counts), possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and possession of marijuana.

He remains in custody without bond. The case is still under investigation by the SIU.
