
Ellen Joann Keller, age 91 of Mt. Airy, Georgia, left to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at the Franklin House Assisted Living in Franklin, NC.
Born in Habersham County on January 28, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Stella Clark Anderson and James Arlin Anderson. Mrs. Keller was the oldest livingmember of Mt. Airy Baptist Church and managed the food pantry ministry for several years, sharing her love for God with those less fortunate. She was a former Mt. Airy City Council member and retired from the Georgia Department of Corrections at Arrendale State Prison. She was former president of the Grant Reeves VFW Post #7720 Ladies Auxiliary; a member of the Arbor Day Foundation and Master Gardener who loved her flowers. She was a cancer survivor and a very successful deer hunter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kirby Lee Keller, and by their son, Roy Lee Keller.
Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, Victor & Cheryl Keller of Franklin, NC; daughter-in-law, Sue Keller of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Aubrey Keller (Jessica) and Wendy Fouts (Nathanael) of Gainesville, Ga., and 10 beautiful great grandchildren. A combined memorial service for Joann and Kirby Keller is planned for January 11, 2026, at 3 PM to celebrate their long lives together. The service will be held at Mt. Airy Baptist Church, 832 Grandview Ave., Mt. Airy, Georgia 30563.
