Election Day voters in Muscogee County tell NowGeorgia.com the economy and key races at the top of the ballot including the race for governor is why they showed up bright and early to cast their vote in the midterm November 3, 2026.

Early voting turnout for the election smashed records nationwide including here in Georgia. A line formed promptly at 7:00 am at Beallwood Baptist Church this morning. One voter who was in and out at the Hamilton Road polling location in a matter of minutes said she waited until Election Day to vote because she “actually went twice and the lines were so long at Blackman Road, that I got out of line, had to go do school pickup, school drop off. Couldn’t work it out.” Another voter said “I intended to vote early. But I just never got around to it.”

Tuesday morning voters in Columbus said affordability issues drove them to make sure they made it to the ballot box this election cycle. “One particular issue, I guess the economy in general, it’s gone to hell. So, I want some checks and balances in place. So, I did my part to see if we can get some control back,” one female voter told NowGeorgia.com.

Other voters in Muscogee County said it was key races on the ballot in Georgia that motivated them to turn up Tuesday morning. “Well, the governor’s race was important to me and the Senate races. Those two were important. I mean all the other are important. But those two for me, those two were the most important,” said one voter.

Voters have until 7:00 pm EST to cast a ballot in Muscogee County. The City Services Center is not a polling location for Election Day voting. Voters must cast their ballots at their assigned precincts.
