
Ashton Roache did a bit of everything in a 15-1 opening win for Tallulah Falls, as the Indians used an eight-run fifth to polish off their road game at King’s Academy on Wednesday.
Tallulah (1-0) started with three runs in the first, with Roache driving in a run and Drew Barron adding an RBI double.
A four-run second frame followed after a scoreless inning on the mound for Roache. Jordan Miller plated a run with a single, and Roache tripled in a pair on a fly ball to right. Barron added another RBI as the Indians were up 7-0.
The game remained there until the fifth. Runs came across on walks, hit by pitches, errors, and passed balls before Roache and Jackson Savage had run-scoring singles. Sean Forbes also added one for the 15-1 lead.
Roache had a 3-hit game with four RBI and three runs scored, while Barron had three RBI and a run, adding a hit and a walk. Roache went 3.2 innings to get the win, striking out six against two hits and one unearned run with no walks. Leslie Sands, Jr. and Barron got the final four outs, with Barron striking out three in a perfect fifth.
William NeSmith had two hits, two runs, and an RBI. Miller, who had three runs, had an RBI, hit, and a walk. Forbes and Brantley Allen also had RBIs, and Aleksander Stefanovic had two runs.
