Douglas Alvin Braudy

Douglas Alvin Braudy, age 81, of the Amys Creek Community, Clarkesville, passed away March 27, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Norwood and Dorothy Braudy, and siblings Martha, Bobby, Maggie, David, Rita, and Elkanah.

Doug was blessed with a large and beautiful loving family, including his loving wife, five children, fourteen grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. He is survived by his devoted, loving wife Ann Vandiver, son Douglas Alvin “Al” Braudy, Jr (Linda), daughter Leila Ann Braudy Walker, daughter Denise Andrea Lagley (Glen), daughter Rhonda McGhee, and son Richard Burks. Grandchildren include Jessica Braudy Truitt, Shane Braudy, Sean Walker, Angelica Walker Wilborn, Mitchell Smith, Steven Langley and Amber Langley, Chris McGhee, Jordan McGhee, Tori McGhee, Darius Burks, Richard Burks, Jr., Madison Burks and Marcharii Watkins, great grandchildren Levi, Lillie, Logan, Kinsleigh, Abel, Berkeley, Oaklee, Johnny, Leam, Myla and Maxon.

Doug was a quiet, observant man who touched many lives in his 81 years. From 1983 – 2023, he owned and operated a dental lab, Doug’s Dental Ceramics. Doug’s generosity and talent provided a welcome solution for so many of his patients, friends, and neighbors. In addition to being a good steward of the land, Doug was a true “Jack of all trades,” and he enjoyed working to restore older cars, was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed providing abundant, tasty ingredients for delicious meals. Doug was a patient and unassuming gentleman who, through his richly rewarding life, left an indelible mark on this world. He was a good friend and a generous and loving family man who cared deeply for his family, and he wanted the very best for each and every one of them. He will be greatly missed but lovingly remembered.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Hillside Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service on Wednesday from 1-3 PM.
