Christopher Shane Posten

Christopher Shane Posten, age 57, of Lula, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

Born in Gainesville, Georgia, on May 20, 1969, Chris was a son of the late David Posten and Patsy Charlene Butler Fricks. He spent many years working in the construction industry, where his hardworking nature served him well throughout his career.

Chris was of the Baptist faith and was a man who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. In his spare time, he could often be found fishing, shooting pool, or simply enjoying the outdoors. More than anything, Chris treasured time spent with those he loved. His family held a special place in his heart, and some of his greatest joy came from his grandchildren, who affectionately knew and loved him as “Papa.” The memories they made together will remain a treasured part of his legacy for years to come.

Chris will be remembered for his love of family, the good times shared with those closest to him, and most especially for the love he had for his grandchildren. Though his earthly journey has come to an end, the memories of Papa will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Chris was preceded in death by his infant sister, Shannon Butler.
Survivors include his children, Christopher Alan Posten, Amanda & Hunter Hamilton, and Jessica & Dustin Smith; grandchildren, Brayden, Adam, Charlie, Kason, Easton, Mason, and Adelynn; aunt, Charlotte Worley; half-sisters, Julie Lunsford, Ellie Sandidge, and Jessica Posten; as well as many cousins, other relatives, and friends.

A Celebration of Chris’s Life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2026. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until the service hour on Friday.
