The cause of death for a popular social media influencer from Columbus has been revealed. Marquaythegoat whose real name is Marquay Collins died of natural causes from an enlarged heart. The cause and manner of death was confirmed by Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan. The autopsy was performed by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation medical examiner’s office in Decatur, GA.
The TikTok star from Columbus called his brother to say he had trouble breathing and by the time his brother arrived he was found dead November 26, 2025, according to the coroner.
Shortly after his death Bryan reported Collins was in a car accident in Atlanta November 7th, 2025, and had been complaining of major aches and pains right before his untimely death. Bryan also reported getting calls from California to New York about the 24-year-old Columbus native’s death.
Collins had amassed more than 7 million followers on TikTok as a food critic. He was a proud graduate of Shaw High School. His mother Sonja Collins posted on Facebook about her son “my baby was about family, love, happiness and friendship…”.
