Demorest, GA – The Piedmont College Lady Lions were unable to match Covenant College in Wednesday night’s USA South home opener inside Cave Arena as the visiting Scots took a 3-0 decision. The Lady Lions (10-4, 2-1 USA South) dropped their first conference match and first match at home this season.
Atlanta, GA – The Piedmont College men’s soccer team was able to take a first half lead in Tuesday’s matchup at Oglethorpe University only to see the Stormy Petrels storm back with two goals in the final 30 minutes to overtake the visiting Lions 2-1 in Atlanta. Piedmont (5-3) had several chances late to equalize but a pair of Lions could not get their shots through the stingy OU defense as the Stormy Petrels (5-4-1) claimed their first win at home this season while Piedmont dropped to 1-3 in true away contests in 2014.
