The Habersham Central Raiders are off this week after another disappointing loss Friday.  The Raiders just couldn’t catch a break against the Raiders of Alpharetta, losing to the host team 52-3. Alpharetta claimed a 14-0 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back; at the half they were up 38-0. Alpharetta took a 52-0 lead on a 72-yard direct snap rushing touchdown
from Rustin Sutter. Central got on the board late in the game with a field goal.
Greensboro, S.C. – The Piedmont College Cross Country Programs resumed action Saturday after a week off with impressive performances at the Greensboro Invitational. Both the Lions and Lady Lions finished as the top program in the Division III competition and had the top individual performer in that category.

Atlanta, GA – The Piedmont College Lady Lions took a break from conference play Saturday but could not come up with a windropping two 3-1 decisions to a pair of Southern Athletic Association foes. Both Oglethorpe University and Centre College took matches in four sets from PC who traveled to Atlanta for the non-conference tri-match hosted by the Stormy Petrels of Oglethorpe.
Fayetteville, NC – The Piedmont College women’s soccer team played 110 minutes of scoreless soccer on Saturday afternoon at Methodist University to earn a very crucial point on the road with a 0-0 draw. The Lady Lions stay in the top four of the conference standings with the result and also keep their title hopes alive with the road result as they will now travel to LaGrange College on Wednesday evening, a team that sits directly behind them on the league table.
Fayetteville, NC – The Piedmont College men’s soccer team got an early goal but could not keep Methodist University off the scoreboard as the Monarchs took a 4-1 decision over PC on Saturday. Piedmont took the kickoff finding freshman Ryan Herbert streaking in as the young forward scored just seconds into the game to put the Lions up 1-nil, but the Monarchs scored four unanswered en route to the victory to hand Piedmont its first loss in league play.

Raleigh, NC – The Piedmont College women’s soccer team could not get into a rhythm against the hosting Avenging Angels of Meredith College in a USA South contest earlier today falling by a 2-0 scoreline. In a rematch of last season’s conference final that saw Piedmont come out on top 2-1 to claim the USA South crown, today’s contest went against the Green and Gold as Meredith scored a pair in the second half to hand PC its first league loss of the season.
