MAYSVILLE — A former municipal court clerk is facing multiple charges following an investigation into missing funds from the City of Maysville.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation arrested Jessica Daniels, 48, of Maysville, charging her with computer trespass, computer forgery, and theft by taking.
The case began in February when the Maysville Police Department requested assistance from the GBI’s Office of Special Investigations after discovering money missing from the Maysville Municipal Court, a press release said.
Investigators say their findings led to Daniels’ arrest on April 2. She was booked into the Jackson County Jail.
Authorities say the investigation remains active and ongoing.
Once the investigation is complete, the case will be turned over to the Piedmont Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
