CLERMONT, Ga. — A Northeast Georgia man faces felony charges following a multi-agency investigation into the distribution of child sexual abuse material, according to state investigators.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation charged 25-year-old Justin Edge with two counts of sexual exploitation of children. The case began in June 2024 when the Hall County Sheriff’s Office received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding the online distribution of child sexual abuse material. Authorities then requested assistance from the GBI’s Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes (CEACC) Unit, which launched a joint investigation.
Investigators say the effort ultimately led to Edge’s arrest on March 17 at the Lumpkin County Department of Community Supervision office. He was booked into the White County Jail.
The Hall County Sheriff’s Office, Georgia Department of Community Supervision, and Dahlonega Police Department assisted in the investigation, the GBI said.
Officials say the case is part of ongoing work by the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, which operates within the GBI’s CEACC Unit. The task force works to identify and prosecute individuals involved in the exploitation of children online.
Anyone with information about other cases of child exploitation is encouraged to contact the GBI CEACC Unit at 404-270-8870 or submit a tip through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children CyberTipline at CyberTipline.org.
