
Jerry Lee Hamilton, age 69, of Clarkesville, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 15, 2026.
Born in Demorest, Georgia on June 21, 1956, he was a son of the late Bud Hamilton and Vera Mae York Hamilton. Jerry was the owner and operator of Hill Switch Tire Shop in Clarkesville, where he faithfully served his community for many years before retiring.
Jerry was a devoted husband, a loving Daddy, and a proud Papa who cherished his family deeply. A man of strong faith, he loved the Lord and lived his life with kindness and humility. He found great joy in the outdoors, especially fishing, and treasured the simple moments spent surrounded by nature and those he loved. His laughter, warmth, and steady presence will be dearly missed, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sherry Lanete Blakely Hamilton; infant son, Coty Hamilton; brothers, Larry William “Sonny” Hamilton and Clyde Hamilton; and sisters, Brenda Gail Porterfield, Linda Mae Mulchi, and Patsy Jean Hamilton.
Survivors include his loving daughter and son-in-law, Heather Hamilton Sheets and Richard Sheets; grandchildren, Caden Hamilton and Colton Hamilton, and Leland Sheets and Logan Sheets; brothers, Leroy Hamilton, Ronald Alexander “Runt” Hamilton, and James Hamilton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many dear friends.
In accordance with his wishes, Jerry will be cremated and no formal service will be held.
