Columbus Longhorn server charged with Fraud and Theft

Deshaun Peralta

A local restaurant server is facing multiple charges after a Columbus Police investigation into alleged fraud and theft. Over the past several weeks, police received reports of fraudulent bank card use. The investigation led to the identification of a suspect, Deshaun Peralta, who was employed as a server at Longhorn Steakhouse on Macon Road. On September 9, 2025, officers with the Property Crimes Unit, assisted by members of the Special Victims and Violent Crimes Units, executed a search warrant at Peralta’s residence. During the search, investigators recovered a money counter, 47.2 grams of marijuana, several cell phones, and an AR-15 rifle that had been reported stolen.

Peralta, along with his brother and mother, was taken into custody. At this time, investigators have identified multiple victims, and additional charges are expected as the investigation continues.

The 20-year-old Peralta is charged with Financial Transaction Card Theft, Financial Transaction Card Fraud x2, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Theft by Receiving (Firearm). 40-year-old Yasmin Peralta is charged with Theft by Receiving (Firearm) and 17-year-old Tyrese Galloway is also charged with Theft by Receiving (Firearm).
