Athens-Clarke County police are investigating an early morning shooting that left one man dead.
On Saturday, April 16, at approximately 2 a.m., police responded to a report of a shooting on Cone Drive in Nellie B Homes.
“Upon arrival, officers located a male who had been shot several times,” says Athens-Clarke County Police Lt. Shaun Barnett.
Police identified the victim as 19-year-old Brynarius Smith of Athens. He died as a result of his injuries, says Barnett.
