A Troup County man is in custody for multiple charges related to a case involving “extreme” child abuse according to the Troup County Sheriff’s Office.

On August 4, Investigators with the Troup County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, were notified by the staff of an Atlanta area children’s hospital that an infant patient under their care had possibly been abused due to the extreme nature of the injuries the child was presenting.

Investigators traveled to Atlanta and met with the medical team who informed them the child had multiple bone fractures and internal injuries, indicative of intentional harm and not an accident. Investigators determined that the injuries occurred at a home in Troup County and were able to locate the parents who were not with the child in the hospital.

After speaking with both parents, the father of the child identified as Jordan Bragg, 27 years old, was arrested and transported to the Troup County Jail. He is currently charged with Aggravated Battery, Cruelty to Children – 1st degree, and Cruelty to Children – 2nd degree.
