Police: Pioneer Little League treasurer stole nearly $80K

The Columbus Police Department’s Property Crimes Unit has arrested a man in connection with a theft investigation involving Pioneer Little League.

In March 2026, the Property Crimes Unit received a report alleging that the league’s treasurer had been using the organization’s bank card for personal purchases. Detectives obtained financial records and identified a pattern of unauthorized transactions across multiple businesses.

The investigation revealed that 1,039 fraudulent charges were made, totaling $79,609.80.

On May 4, 2026, arrest warrants were obtained for Craig Norris, 35. He was located at his residence by members of the Property Crimes Unit and taken into custody without incident. Norris was transported to the Muscogee County Jail and charged with Theft by Taking (Felony) and Financial Transaction Card Fraud.

Norris is scheduled to appear in Recorder’s Court for a preliminary hearing on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 1:30 p.m.
