Piedmont is expanding access to quality care in east Alabama when it opens its first location in the Auburn and Opelika area on Monday, May 4. The new Piedmont Primary Care of Auburn practice will help address the growing need for timely access to primary care services in Lee County and the surrounding area.

“Providing east Alabama with another option for health care providers is a great win for this community,” said Piedmont Columbus Regional CEO and Auburn native Scott Hill. “We hope opening this clinic in a convenient location will help patients stay ahead of long-term health needs by making preventative care and routine visits easier than ever to access.”

Richard Horak II, M.D., who has been in the Auburn area since 2005, will be accepting patients aged 16 and up at the new location. He is board-certified in internal medicine. His special interests include high blood pressure, diabetes management, preventative care, and sports medicine.

“Primary care providers are essential in helping patients manage their overall health and lead to more positive health outcomes,” Dr. Horak says. “We conduct regular checkups, develop disease‑prevention plans, coordinate care, diagnose and treat illnesses, injuries, and other health conditions.”

Piedmont Primary Care of Auburn will be located at 1800 Samford Trace Court, Suite 120, in Auburn. In partnership with the Auburn Chamber of Commerce, a ribbon cutting and community house is scheduled for Friday, May 1 at 1 p.m. CT. People can meet Dr. Horak and take a tour of the new office. Patients will have access to same-day appointments, online scheduling capabilities, and video visit options for convenient access to Piedmont’s care team. Call 334-291-2022 to learn more.
