CLEVELAND, Ga. — A White County grand jury has indicted a Mt. Airy man on multiple felony charges in connection with a sexual assault investigation.
The White County Grand Jury reconvened for its April term on Tuesday, June 30, and returned 17 true bills of indictment after hearing evidence presented by prosecutors.
Among those indicted was 29-year-old Salvador Velazquez of Mt. Airy. Velazquez faces charges of rape, kidnapping, armed robbery and battery. He was arrested by White County Sheriff’s Office deputies following a May 7 investigation into the reported sexual assault of a 24-year-old woman.

Investigators identified Velazquez as the suspect during the investigation and said he and the victim were well-known acquaintances.
The grand jury also indicted 27-year-old Daniel Clayton Fuller on two counts of aggravated child molestation, along with one count each of child molestation and statutory rape. Fuller was arrested by White County Sheriff’s Office deputies on April 15.
