Hardman Farm to host Concert by the Creek July 18

SAUTEE NACOOCHEE, Ga. — Hardman Farm State Historic Site will host its annual Concert by the Creek on Saturday, July 18, offering an evening of live Appalachian and bluegrass music in the heart of the Nacoochee Valley.

The outdoor concert will be held along the creek at the historic site, where visitors can enjoy music, food and scenic views during a summer evening gathering.

Bob and Melody Thomason will open the event with stories and songs inspired by Appalachian traditions. The Shoal Creek Band will follow with a performance featuring bluegrass and mountain music.

Gates open at 5 p.m., giving guests time to explore the grounds and purchase refreshments before the music begins. Food vendors and Friends of Hardman Farm volunteers will offer hot dog baskets, homemade ice cream, lemonade, baked goods and other concessions.

General admission tickets are $15 per person. A family pass costs $35 and includes admission for two adults and all children ages 17 and younger. A reserved table for six is available for $150 and includes seating for six, a complimentary charcuterie board and a guided tour of the Hardman Farm mansion led by a docent in period dress.

“Concerts by the Creek is one of our favorite new summer traditions,” said Sarah Summers, assistant manager at Hardman Farm. “It brings together great music, beautiful surroundings, and a sense of community that perfectly reflects the spirit of Hardman Farm.”

Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs for the event.

Hardman Farm State Historic Site preserves the historic home and agricultural landscape of one of North Georgia’s most significant farms through tours, educational programs and special events highlighting the history of the Nacoochee Valley.
