Fort Benning and The Michaels Organization will host a Norton Court revitalization
groundbreaking ceremony. This redevelopment project represents a significant investment in quality of life for junior officers, replacing inter-war era housing with modern, energy-efficient town homes.
The Norton Court project will replace 112 legacy homes built in 1949 with modern two-story townhomes designed specifically for junior officers and their families. The three – and four – bedroom homes will feature energy-efficient appliances, fenced backyards, and detached garages. The community will have a central park, gathering pavilion, and integrated walking paths.
Norton Court is named in honor of WWI hero Capt. John Henry “Jack” Norton, who was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with 47th Infantry Regiment, 4th Division, American Expeditionary Forces, at Sergey, France, in July 1918.
The ceremony is scheduled for Monday, May 11, at the intersection of Carey St. and Gillespie St., Norton Court, Fort Benning, Ga.
