April Ausburn, a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished friend, passed away on February 26, 2026, at the age of 60. Born on March 7, 1965, in Winthrop, Massachusetts, April made her home in Georgia after moving to Atlanta in 1993, where she built a life centered on faith, family, and meaningful connections.
A proud member of Perimeter Church, April’s Christian faith was a guiding light in her life. She lived with kindness and generosity, always ready to uplift those around her.
April found joy in life’s simple and beautiful moments. She had a deep love for animals, especially her dogs and cat, who were constant companions. She was an avid traveler, embracing both adventurous journeys abroad and memorable road trips closer to home. Her passion for photography enabled her to capture the world through a unique, thoughtful lens—from portraits and family moments to nature and travel scenes. She was also active in several online photography groups, where she shared her creativity and connected with others who had the same passion.
Family was at the heart of everything April did. She treasured time spent with her husband and two children, creating memories filled with love and laughter. She also had a fondness for movies, especially during the Christmas season, when she delighted in watching Hallmark holiday films. Music was another joy in her life, with a special appreciation for country, though her tastes spanned many genres.
April’s compassion extended beyond her immediate circle. She supported organizations such as Doctors Without Borders, Lost-n-Found, and RUMC Job Networking, reflecting her desire to make a positive impact on others’ lives.
A celebration of April’s life will be held on Saturday, April 18th, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of McGahee, Griffin & McEntire Funeral Home in Cornelia. All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend and share in remembrance and love.
