ALTO, Ga. — The Alto City Council is expected to again take up multiple budget-related items Tuesday night, following confusion that led officials to table action during their last meeting.
According to the agenda, council members will consider a 2025 budget amendment resolution, the 2026 budget proposal resolution and a 2026 budget amendment resolution during their regular meeting at 7 p.m., preceded by a 6 p.m. work session.
The budget remains the dominant issue for the council after the March council meeting in which officials delayed approving a resolution tied to the city’s finances. That discussion revealed uncertainty among council members about specific figures and the scope of the proposal, prompting the board to hold off on a vote and seek clarification before moving forward.
Tuesday’s meeting is expected to bring those items back for reconsideration, with the possibility of formal action once questions are addressed.
In addition to the budget matters, the council will recognize the city’s police chief and handle routine business. An executive session is also scheduled under state law to discuss personnel, followed by any recommendations from city officials and a public comment period.
The meeting will take place at Alto City Hall.
